Phytochemical Analytics Technician (m/f/d)
Nutreco is a leading global animal nutrition company offering solutions that go beyond nutrition. We support our customers to produce more feed in a sustainable way to feed the growing population. In 2021, Nutreco established the Nutreco Exploration (NutEx) group who develops novel and proprietary ultra-specialty ingredients and empowers development of plant based innovative functional feeds. For this phytotechnology program, Nutreco founded a Competence Center for Medicinal Plant Solutions (Nutreco Garden of the Future = NuGaFu). We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled person who can support the Phytotechnology team in plant analysis.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- You will be part of the NutEx Discovery Group and support us with all aspects in practical work related to our phytotechnology projects.
- You will be responsible for quality control of our plant products, known as PhytoComplex under the brand EDGEOS.
- You will work within the phytochemistry team and develop, optimize, and carry out phytochemical analytical methods.
- You will collaborate in data evaluation
Requirements:
Completed apprenticeship as a Laboratory Technician with experience in analytics (especially HPLC analysis of plant or natural substances) or a degree in "Life Sciences" with sound knowledge and practical experience in the fields of natural product chemistry, including plant secondary metabolites and HPLC analysis.
We expect you to bring specific knowledge in one or several of the following areas:
- Phytochemistry
- Analytical techniques, such as HPLC-UV, HPLC-MS, and others
- Excellent computer and software skills in Word, Excel and HPLC software
Good written and spoken German and English. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with team members. An open and communicative personality with willingness to work in a discovery environment with partly non-linear workflows. This role will be based in Arbon, Switzerland; local labor conditions apply.
