As Materials Engineer you hold the technical responsibility for our plastic raw materials regarding all aspects of their life cycle. You function as an interface between suppliers, product development, production and market. You evaluate new materials, lead own material innovation projects and support our R&D departments in finding sustainable solutions for our products.

Your tasks:
  • Lead, manage and execute feasibility studies to validate new materials and applications for GF Piping products
  • Ensure compliance of formulations with current and upcoming regulation
  • Research for solutions, new materials, formulation development and end of life concepts
  • Collaborate with our suppliers worldwide
  • Establish and extend technology networks with suppliers, universities, research institutes and technology start-ups
  • Maintain and extend internal stakeholder network on a global scale
  • Support and consult our global R&D departments regarding all material aspects
  • Train coworkers regarding plastic materials
Your profile:
  • PhD/Master's degree in plastic engineering, material engineering, polymer chemistry or similar
  • Preferably at least 2 to 5 years professional experience as an engineer or scientist
  • Good knowledge about plastics, plastic processing and plastic recycling
  • Open and creative mind, cross-linked thinking and passionate to conquer new fields
  • Clear communication skills, convincing and able to communicate complex technical topics comprehensibly
  • Project management experience as well as experience with innovation and R&D processes
  • English language skills must be on a high professional level, German is of advantage
  • Willingness to travel (approx. 10 to 20 %)
