Desktop Support Engineer

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Possess strong technical expertise in strategic platforms such as Microsoft Windows, Networking & Security, WAN, LAN, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Monitor and manage ServiceNow (SNOW), prioritizing and escalating issues when necessary to ensure timely resolution.
  • Experience with market data applications (Bloomberg, Refinitiv), market data feeds, and troubleshooting Excel Add-ins.
  • Diagnose and resolve a wide range of technical issues, including computer hardware, software, networking, remote access, and telephony.
  • Assist in documenting and maintaining IT policies, procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • Provide support for remote access solutions.
  • Offer after-hours and on-call support as required.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members and external vendors to address complex issues and implement solutions.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Participate in IT projects and initiatives, contributing to their planning and execution.
Work Experience/Background:

Essential:

  • Experience working in banking/trading
  • Active Directory administration.
  • Familiarity with best practice methodologies such as ITIL.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (2016/365).
  • Experience with Intune/SCCM.
  • Knowledge of market data applications.
  • PowerShell scripting skills.
  • Experience with VMware/Horizon.
  • Knowledge of Azure.
  • Broad understanding of financial markets.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Python support.
  • IT certifications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Understanding of control principles (Release Management, Change Management, etc.).
  • Proficiency in English and French.
