Internship UX Research & Experimentation (f|m|d) - Zurich/Fribourg
Welcome to SMG Swiss Marketplace
We are a pioneering network of online marketplaces and a leading European digital company that simplifies people's lives with forward-looking products.
The Opportunity
Are you fascinated by how users behave—and even more curious about why? Do you love working with data, testing hypotheses, and translating insights into impact? Join our awesome UX Research & Experimentation Team at SMG Automotive with Switzerland’s biggest vehicle marketplaces AutoScout24 and MotoScout24.
As an intern UX Research & Experimentation, you'll support our efforts to better understand user behavior and improve conversion across our digital touchpoints. You’ll be part of a cross-functional team working at the intersection of user research, data analysis, and experimentation.
You’ll help design, run, and analyze A/B tests, conduct quantitative and qualitative studies, and turn data into actionable insights for product, design, and business.
What you’ll do
- Support the planning and execution of UX research and experiments, with a focus on improving key conversion funnels.
- Help design and analyze A/B and multivariate tests using tools like split, Hotjar, Google analytics or similar.
- Collaborate on quantitative user research: surveys, behavioral analytics, user flows, and segmentation.
- Support qualitative research (e.g., user interviews, usability tests) to complement quantitative insights.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, Data analysts, and Marketing to translate findings into actions.
- Prepare and present results in a clear and data-driven way.
Who you are
- You’re currently studying in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Data Science, Statistics, Human-Computer Interaction, Business Analytics, or similar).
- You’re passionate about understanding behavior through data and experimentation.
- You bring strong statistical thinking and ideally have first experience with tools like R, Python, SQL, or Google Analytics.
- You’re curious, self-motivated, and eager to learn more about CRO, A/B testing, and user research methods.
- You communicate clearly in both German and English.
- Bonus if you’ve worked with tools like Hotjar, split.io, Tableau, Google Analytics and other reporting & analytics tools, or similar.
- While you're data-driven, you still care about the user perspective and know how to connect numbers with human behavior.
Why join us
- Work on real-world problems with measurable business impact.
- Learn from a supportive team of researchers, analysts, and product experts.
- Gain practical experience with experimentation, research, and data tools.
- Flexible working hours and the possibility to work remotely.
- A fun, dynamic environment that values curiosity, impact, and collaboration.
You'll be part of a diverse, international team of great people. We embrace hybrid work, meeting in the office once a week to connect in person. You are invited to any of our modern and spacious offices in Zurich and Fribourg. Your working hours are also very flexible and always up for discussion - so don’t worry about your next finals, we’ll understand and support you there!
Interested?
We’d love to hear from you. Just send us your CV and a few lines about why you’re excited to join.
