Application Engineer Rail Surveying Systems 80-100%

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for successful design, development, and implementation of railway survey applications that meet the requirements of our customers with focus on the Chinese market
• Work closely with product managers, software developers, and other specialists to ensure successful delivery of applicable solutions
• Collaborate with distribution partners and customers to provide technical guidance and training. Domestic and international travel (5-20%) may be required
• Gather, analyze, and document stakeholder requirements to ensure clear and comprehensive specifications
• Support product development and customers by diagnosing and resolving technical issues through data analysis, using appropriate tools
• Create and maintain technical documentation and user manuals
• Organize and execute hardware & software testing to ensure their reliability and functionality
• Continuously monitor emerging trends and technologies, recommending innovative tools and methodologies to optimize and enhance the development process

Desired Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in geodesy, geomatics, or a related field are the basis for your success in an interdisciplinary team
• Your strong analytical thinking and willingness to familiarize yourself with new topics helps to develop new solutions on platforms like measurement trolleys, rail vehicles, and drones
• Your basic knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Python) will support you in prototyping and data analysis
• Strong sense of responsibility, ability to multi-task and meet expectations in response times
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Very good communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in English is essential

Preferred Skills

• Work/project experience with Asian culture
• Good technical understanding of software, mechanics, and electronics
• Knowledge in German or Chinese
