IS Network Engineer and Technical Project Manager (m/f/d) (80-100%)

As part of our global digitalization efforts at Accelleron, we are looking for a skilled IS Network Engineer and Technical Project Manager (m/f/d) to join our team at the global headquarters in Baden, Switzerland. In this critical hybrid role, you will combine hands-on network engineering expertise with strong project leadership to ensure the stability, security, and scalability of our local IT infrastructure.

Acting as the central technical contact for both local and global networking topics, you will support daily operations while leading the design and implementation of network solutions for strategic IT and factory initiatives. Your work will directly enhance business continuity by reducing incident response times, improving change reliability, and minimizing dependency on external partners. By designing and delivering future-ready network solutions, you will play a key role in enabling the successful execution of high-impact projects and securing the digital backbone of our manufacturing operations.

Your responsibilities:

Network Engineering & Operations

  • Manage and maintain global and local network infrastructure to ensure high availability and stability.
  • Follow standardized operating procedures and security guidelines for consistent system maintenance and timely upgrades.
  • Configure and manage Layer 2/3 network devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Design and administer VLANs, IP addressing, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
  • Ensure robust network connectivity for servers, workstations, and manufacturing/operational equipment.
  • Monitor network performance, analyze traffic patterns, and provide regular performance reports.
  • Troubleshoot network issues, manage incidents, and ensure timely resolution to minimize downtime.
  • Support the integration of Zscaler and other security solutions into the overall network architecture.

Project Management & Deployment

  • Serve as the local design lead for network-related aspects of IT and factory projects, ensuring alignment between design and implementation.
  • Lead network deployment within infrastructure projects, in collaboration with Architecture, Security, and Business teams.
  • Develop site-specific network designs that align with global frameworks and meet local needs.
  • Create and maintain central documentation for network infrastructure to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to implement secure, scalable, and future-proof solutions.

Your background:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in enterprise network engineering and operations as well as hands-on experience in network projects.
  • Certifications such as CCNA or CCNP required; Zscaler certifications are a strong plus.
  • Proven expertise in LAN, WAN, WLAN technologies, network security, and protocols such as VRF, IPSec VPN, and Cisco Catalyst/WLC.
  • Strong knowledge of network capacity planning, documentation standards, and change management processes.
  • Experience integrating network infrastructure with security frameworks and enterprise systems.
  • Solid project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and align technical solutions with business goals.
  • Fluent in English; German proficiency is a plus.
