As Head of Quality you are responsible for leading our mission to achieve excellence in product quality and sustainability. You will oversee all quality-related activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and driving continuous improvement across our operations. Your role involves managing teams, developing innovative solutions, and enhancing our circular business practices to support our commitment to sustainability.

  • Lead Quality Initiatives: Position Mammut as a leader in quality and develop circular business practices based on Repair & Care.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee and develop Quality teams at various locations.
  • Strategic Development: Establish quality strategies, KPIs, corrective action plans, and reporting systems.
  • Quality Management System: Implement and maintain a robust quality management system across the value chain, from design to finished goods, including fabric development and product lifecycle extension.
  • Technical Compliance & Risk Management: Enhance and manage compliance strategies for Hardware, Footwear, and Apparel, focusing on Personal Protection Equipment, including risk assessment and mitigation, according to highest industry standards, norms and requirements.
  • Process Improvement:
    Advance quality management processes, integrating quality gates and assurance throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Supplier Support & Product Monitoring: Develop global suppliers through audits and corrective actions. And collaborate with testing laboratories to monitor fabric and product quality.
  • Repair Services & Customer Feedback: Establish and improve external repair services for clothing, footwear, and equipment to extend product lifespan and reduce waste. And collect and analyze customer feedback to identify quality issues and implement improvements in the value chain.
  • Innovation & Collaboration:
    Work with internal departments and external partners to develop innovative solutions for circular business models and repair services.
  • Reporting: Responsible for presenting an annual PPE QMS status report to the GM incl. end to end PPE risk assessment status, KPI`s (supplier and q-issue KPI`s) and PPE project outlook.
Play to your strengths
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Quality Management, (Textile) Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in implementing and managing QMS, such as ISO 9001 would be desirable.
  • At least 7-10 years of experience in quality assurance, auditing, or standards management within the Outdoor/ Textile industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of textile materials, manufacturing processes, and PPE standards.
  • Experience in the certification processes with TÜV or similar institutes as well as a deep understanding of standards/norms related to UIAA, CEN, DIN, et al. and knowledge of EU and Non-Regulations related to PPE would be desirable.
  • Proven Leadership and Team Management experience.
  • Technical Expert with strong communication as well as analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Fluent in English (written/spoken), a good command of German is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge in ERP, PLM and MS Office, experience with BI, Analytics & QM Tools would be desirable.
  • Practical own experience in the usage of PPE equipment and passion/love for mountains a big plus.
