Specialist / Expert Dynamic Repository Modelling (m/f/d)

Radioactive waste must be safely isolated from humans and the environment for the next one million years. This can only be ensured by enclosing it in a deep geological repository. In Switzerland, Nagra is preparing a construction licence application for this groundbreaking project. 

To strengthen our dynamic repository modelling team, we are looking for a:

You are enthusiastic about coupled modelling of subsurface processes and modelling of multiphase flows and transport. The results of your work will have a significant impact on this trailblazing project and contribute to providing a safe solution for radioactive waste.

Your responsibilities:

• Integration: collaborating with experts from different departments and sections to coordinate and integrate analyses that contribute to the development of the deep geological repository.
• Advanced subsurface modelling: designing and implementing integrated modelling tools to meet Nagra's needs related to the performance assessment of a wide spectrum of repository variants and alternatives. You will provide performance and safety assessment models that can be fully integrated into Nagra's digital environment and coupled with the organisation's digital engineering tools.
• Project management: managing a diverse project portfolio and regularly collaborating with experts from various disciplines on issues such as baseline data or cost estimates.
• Innovation: developing innovative high-end technologies and integrating them into the safety assessment workflow.

Your profile:

• University degree in engineering, natural or computer sciences or a related discipline
• Adaptability and willingness to commit to the repository project
• Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
• Fluent English is required, German skills are a plus
