Cyber Security Engineer (f/m/d)
Your responsibilities
- Engage in real-world applications of cybersecurity practices with a focus on both (automated & scalable) offensive and defensive strategies.
- Implement, manage, and monitor security controls across our diverse cloud environments and on-premise systems. Engineer secure solutions, while hardening our existing apps and infrastructure. Collaborate with development teams to integrate security best practices into our DevSecOps cycle and CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate security workflows with popular scripting and programming languages, and review code to squash vulnerabilities before hitting the wild.
- Actively participate in threat hunting, detection, incident response, and vulnerability management activities.
- Contribute to security architecting initiatives that bolster our defensive mechanisms and prevent future threats.
Your skills
- Higher education degree in computer science or cyber security (ETH/UNI/FH) or equivalent relevant professional experience is required.
- Recent experience in defensive and/or offensive cyber security operations/activities over several years is essential. Achievement of industry recognized certifications is a plus. Software engineering experience with use of agile software development principles is also beneficial.
- In particular, security expertise in cloud platforms like Azure and GCP, version control systems, especially GitHub, scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell are necessary. An understanding of .Net & Kubernetes environments as a plus.
- A passion for learning and staying abreast of the latest trends, tactics, and technologies in cybersecurity. A proactive mindset with a knack for problem-solving and critical thinking. A willingness to challenge "how things have always been done" and propose more efficient, automated, or effective solutions.
- A collaborative spirit and a desire to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, eager to share knowledge and learn from others. You thrive in a team and enrich it with your open, authentic, down-to-earth personality.
- English proficiency is required, along with either existing German skills or a strong motivation to learn the language on the job with support from our education programs.
