Lab Operations Technician (f/m/d) - 50%

We are looking for a Lab Operations Technician to support a small team of researchers at a discovery biology laboratory near Basel. Our client is a biotechnology company focused on developing innovative new medicines.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Responsible for lab instruments: schedule routine maintenance, repairs etc.
• Responsible for lab consumables: ordering, managing the orders, receiving, and storing material
• Disposal of BSL1/2 and general lab waste, as required
• Manage the receiving of lab package deliveries through ISS
• Monitoring the Liquid Nitrogen levels in the lab Cryo Tank and refill, as required
• Set up and maintain lab reagent inventories as well as lab storages: LN2 frozen cell vials,  chemicals, antibodies, common reagents (i.e. CTG, HTRF kits)
• Responsible for the arrangement and coordination of lab shipments (i.e. cells, reagents,    compounds etc.) to CRO’s or other sites of the company

Profile

• Apprenticeship as a Biology Laboratory Technician or ongoing or completed Bachelor's degree in a relevant science field (suitable as a side job during studies)
• Experience in laboratory operations (preferably in a biology lab)
• High level of confidentiality and reliability is expected
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary for interacting with staff, researchers and other stakeholders
• Very good English and German skills are required
