Modern Workplace Engineer (ID1815)

Short Description

As Modern Workplace Engineer and Exchange Expert, design, manage, and continuously improve the modern workplace environment to ensure stability, performance, and security of end-user computing solutions. Responsible for the implementation, packaging, and deployment of workplace applications and configurations in line with organizational standards. Ensure optimal management, operation, and technical ownership of Microsoft Exchange and related mail services. Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for workplace systems, enabling efficient incident resolution and user satisfaction. Drive innovation and technical improvements within the workplace ecosystem to deliver a seamless and modern user experience.

Main Responsibilities

Modern Workplace Engineering:

  • Design, implement, and maintain modern workplace solutions to ensure performance, security, and user satisfaction.
  • Package, deploy, and manage applications via Intune, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
  • Develop and maintain Windows client configurations, including hardware standards and setup automation.
  • Manage and support Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile Application Management (MAM) solutions to enable secure and efficient mobile working.
  • Collaborate with IT Security to ensure workplace compliance with information security policies.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for client and mobile systems to resolve complex incidents efficiently.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation of workplace technologies and processes.

Exchange Management:

  • Take overall technical ownership of the Microsoft Exchange environment (Online and Hybrid).
  • Ensure stability, security, and high availability of all Exchange services.
  • Plan, implement, and manage upgrades, migrations, and configuration changes in line with our security standards
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address issues to maintain operational excellence.
  • Manage Exchange policies, permissions, and compliance settings to meet organizational and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT Security to ensure mail services align with security frameworks and standards.
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolve complex incidents and problems related to Exchange.
  • Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of the Exchange infrastructure, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Support projects and initiatives that involve Exchange integration or transformation.
  • Act as the main point of contact for Exchange-related topics towards internal stakeholders and external partners.
Main Requirements

Core Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Exchange Online and hybrid configurations.
  • Strong expertise in modern workplace technologies, including Intune, Windows client management, and application deployment.
  • Ability to plan and implement Exchange upgrades, migrations, and optimizations.
  • Deep understanding of mail flow, security, and compliance within Exchange environments.
  • Analytical and structured problem-solving skills for complex workplace and Exchange issues.
  • Ability to act as technical owner, ensuring operational excellence and strategic alignment.
  • Strong documentation skills for configurations, policies, and operational procedures.
  • Effective collaboration with IT Security, Infrastructure, and Architecture teams.
  • Clear communication of complex technical topics to stakeholders at various levels.
  • High degree of self-motivation and willingness for continuous learning to stay up to date with evolving technologies and standards.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and service excellence.

Educational Requirements:

  • Higher education in Information Technology or Business Informatics (HF/FH) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Microsoft Certifications in Intune and Exchange Areas

Job Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years as a Workplace Engineer or similar

Language Skills:

  • Proficient in English, German is an advantage, both written and orally
