To strengthen our team, the Institute of Life Sciences is seeking a motivated PhD Student to advance research in biopharmaceutical inclusion body (IB) processes, combining process analytical technology (PAT) and molecular dynamics.

PhD student in Life Science Engineering (100 %)

Your mission

  • Execute an innovative research project at the intersection of experimental process development and computational modeling, with a focus on process optimization and analytical technologies.
  • Collaborate with the project partner Lonza and the PhD co-supervisor Prof. Jürgen Hubbuch at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), ensuring strong communication in alignment with project goals.
  • Share your findings through high-impact publications and conference presentations, contributing to the scientific community and industry advancements.

Yourprofile

  • Master’s degree in chemical engineering, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or a related field, with an academic record above 5.25 (Swiss grading system).
  • Hands-on experience with liquid handling systems, inclusion body refolding, and/or molecular dynamics simulations.
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB) for data analysis and modeling.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with fluency in English.
  • Industrial experience in biopharmaceuticals or related fields is a plus.
