Legal Counsel - Commodity Trading

Join a leading international commodity trading business and become the legal partner to its trading and operations teams. This role is ideal for a lawyer with 3-7 years' experience in a commodity trading environment who enjoys working close to the business and handling both day-to-day trading support and complex disputes.

What you'll do

• Advise traders and operators on international commodity trading transactions.
• Draft and negotiate trading, shipping and logistics contracts.
• Manage disputes, arbitrations and claims (GAFTA, FOSFA, LCIA, charterparties, cargo claims, etc.).
• Support the business on broader legal matters including corporate, compliance and commercial projects.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders across the global trading organisation.

What we're looking for

• 3-7 years of legal experience gained in-house at a commodity trading company or advising commodity trading clients in private practice.
• Strong knowledge of commodity trading, maritime/shipping law and international trade contracts.
• Hands-on experience with disputes, arbitrations and claims management.
• Commercial mindset with the confidence to work directly with traders and business leaders.
• Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.
