We are looking for a Senior Research Associate (In vivo) - Nicht-maligne Hämatologie (m/w/d) Metropolregion Basel
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated research associate to contribute to the development of novel therapeutic strategies for non-malignant blood disorders, with a focus on hemoglobinopathies. In this role, you will be part of a collaborative, international research group working at the forefront of medical innovation. Your main focus will be conducting in vitro experiments using cell culture systems to characterize and validate therapeutic approaches for anemia-related conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform in vivo experiments with transgenic mouse models (e.g., injections, tissue collection, sample processing)
Conduct downstream molecular and cellular assays such as multicolor flow cytometry, qPCR, and Western blotting
Work with various biological materials including cell lines, primary cells, and patient-derived tissues
Design, execute, and interpret experimental studies; contribute to assay development and optimization
Analyze data, document experiments accurately, and clearly communicate results to the team
Support team operations by maintaining a clean and organized lab space and fostering a positive, team-oriented work environment
Required Qualifications:
Degree in Life Sciences (MSc or BSc in molecular/cellular biology, immunology, pharmacology, hematology) or equivalent professional training with at least 3 years of lab experience
Valid certification to perform animal experiments (e.g., LTK1, FELASA or equivalent)
Proven hands-on experience working with rodents (e.g., injections, tissue sampling)
Strong background in cell culture and in vitro assay techniques
High motivation, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive mindset
Fluency in English, both written and spoken
Solid data management and documentation capabilities
Collaborative attitude and a strong drive to succeed in a team setting
Previous industry experience is considered a plus
Preferred Skills:
Experience with flow cytometry is desirable
Background in immunology or hematopoiesis is advantageous
