Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Spacetek's technology has its origins in scientific space flight. We use this expertise to design, manufacture and distribute compact and robust time-of-flight mass spectrometers (TOF-MS) for industrial and space applications. Our focus is to close the gap in the current lack of process control of existing and future manufacturing technologies in the semiconductor industry.

Our products redefine the real-time analysis of chemical processes in physical processes. This massively improves process control and increases production yields. At the same time, waste and environmental impact are minimized. Our innovation is used in an international environment with business partners in Germany, Korea and Japan. Our network is growing rapidly in Asia, Europe and the USA.

The company is based in Switzerland (Gümligen) and has a team of 30 members. Our company has offices in South Korea (Dongtan, Hwaseong) and Taiwan (Taichung).

Your working environment

You will be part of the Space Division with an innovative and interdisciplinary team and make a decisive contribution to the ongoing development of Spacetek's technology for Space applications. We are flying to the Moon! Spacetek offers a modern, dynamic environment with a wide range of tasks with a young and interdisciplinary team of hardware and software engineers, physicists, and other enthusiasts.

Your tasks:

• You are in charge to design embedded software including architecture and related platforms for our Space applications
• You play an active role in requirements analysis, specification, and implementation including comprehensive test plans of the embedded software on our Space computers
• You support our customers in their technical vision and inspire and enable them to find pragmatic solutions
• You manage technical aspects with our suppliers
• You are familiar with standards for highly reliable software development

Your profile:

• You have a BSc and 4+ years’ experience in relevant field
• Profound experience in architectural design of complex software for embedded systems
• Profound programming knowledge in C, C++ and relevant languages such as Rust
• Experience with embedded Linux development and build systems (Yocto), release management, and agile development methods
• Beneficial: knowledge of Python, Qt and web-based GUI (JavaScript) for diagnostic tools
• Beneficial: experience with EDA tools (Altium designer), FPGA programming (Xilinx/AMD toolchain)
• Beneficial: hands-on experience with lab instruments, soldering
• You know how to document achievements and how to write test reports and log-sheets (preferably after ESA or NASA guidelines)
• Ability to work in a team with an independent and helpful way of working
• Good language skills in English (spoken and written)

• You don’t get lost in detail, when it’s important to meet the launch date, because you know that rockets can’t wait
• A good flair in requirements and specification management and its verification
• A good mix of all disciplines in software engineering and embedded systems
• Use to work in a practical environment and work with all kinds of scopes and measurement equipment
• Use to work in agile teams.
