Senior Scientist R&D Coagulation Diagnostics (m/f/d)

Location: Aesch, BL
Position
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Scientist to join our R&D team and contribute to the development of coagulation diagnostic kits and reagents. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in driving scientific innovation, managing collaborative projects, and strengthening Pentapharm’s position as a leader in hemostasis diagnostics.
Tasks
  • Design, develop, and optimize coagulation diagnostic assays and reagents
  • Lead feasibility studies, verification, and validation activities in compliance with ISO 13485 and IVDR requirements
  • Document all activities according to quality system procedures and design control standards
  • Initiate and manage R&D collaborations with diagnostic and pharmaceutical partners, including aspects of intellectual property, project scope, and data ownership
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Regulatory Affairs, and Compliance to ensure scientific and business alignment
  • Publish scientific data and present company research at conferences and expert forums
  • Contribute to innovation and patent applications to strengthen Pentapharm’s technology base
  • Stay abreast of scientific and competitive developments in the coagulation diagnostics field
Qualification
  • PhD in Biochemistry, Hematology, Molecular Biology, or a related Life Science discipline
  • Minimum 5–8 years of R&D experience in IVD or clinical diagnostics, ideally within coagulation
  • Proven track record in assay development and design control under ISO 13485 or equivalent quality systems
  • Experience in managing external R&D collaborations and familiarity with IP-related processes
  • Strong scientific communication skills, with experience publishing or presenting at international meetings & events
  • Strategic and innovative thinker with strong project management and teamwork capabilities
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken); German is an advantage
