How you can make a difference:

As Cloud Platform Lead, you own the end-to-end cloud infrastructure and platform strategy forDigital Health Solutions- Hamilton Medical's dedicated Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) business unit.The unit developscloud-basedapplicationsincludingaClinical Decision SupportSystem(CDSS) for critical care ventilation.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you are the single accountable owner for the Azure cloud environment: from day-to-day operations and incident response to long-term platform strategy, infrastructure-as-code foundations, security governance, and cost management.You work in a startup-like environmentin closecollaborationwith the devteamwith a high degree of autonomyand will be instrumental in maturing the platform as theproductsscales.

Cloud Infrastructure & Operations

• Own the Azure cloud environment end-to-end, including tenant administration, identity and access management (IAM), subscription governance, and resource organisation

• Ensure platform reliability through proactive capacity planning, performance monitoring, incident response, and disaster recovery processes
  

Platform Engineering

• Build and maintain reusable infrastructure-as-code (IaC) building blocks that enable engineering teams to ship reliably and safely

• Define and enforce platform standards across environments (development, staging, production)
  

Platform Strategy & Roadmap

• Own the cloud platform strategy and multi-quarter roadmap, aligning infrastructure evolution with product and business requirements

• Communicate platform decisions and trade-offs clearly to a non-cloud-expert leadership team
  

Cloud Security & Compliance

• Establish and maintain cloud infrastructure security standards in alignment with relevant frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2)

• Govern the collaboration with the external virtual CISO (vCISO), ensuring accountability and follow-through on security requirements
  

Cost Management

• Monitor, forecast, and optimise cloud spend; present cost reports and recommendations to leadership

That's what you bring along:

Must-have

• Proven hands-on experience owning Azure cloud infrastructure in a production environment (IAM, networking, compute, storage, monitoring)

• Strong infrastructure-as-code skills

• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment with minimal management overhead

• Highly structured and analytical approach to problem-solving, with the ability to communicate clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  

Beneficial

• Experience with cloud-based SaMD or regulated healthcare software environments

• Familiarity with information security frameworks: ISO 27001, SOC 2, or equivalent

• Experience engaging with external security partners (vCISO, pen-test providers, auditors)

• Strong bias towards action - moves decisively in ambiguous environments rather than waiting for perfect information

• Comfortable owning critical infrastructure and taking full accountability for outcomes

• Self-starter who takes ownership and drives outcomes without being asked

• Comfortable building structure and process from scratch in a startup-like setting

• Communicates proactively and transparently with engineering peers and leadership alike
