As a CAD Designer based in Elsau (Switzerland) in a global design team, with colleagues in Germany, Italy, India, Netherlands, and USA, you will be responsible for the design of new or existing products of exhaust aftertreatment for diesel and gas engines. You will create complete engineering designs that are translated into CAD models and create all related documentation in the PDM/ERP system.
Job Description:
- Application work for customer projects, supporting sales and project management
- Creation and modification of 3D models and drawings
- Communication with colleagues in sales and project management of all the Hug Engineering subsidiaries
- Creation and maintenance of technical release and modification documents (PDM)
- Participation in R&D and cost optimization projects
- Improvement of producibility of existing or new designs via supplier visits
- Support and training within the global engineering team
Your qualifications:
- Successfully completed education as CAD designer, preferably 0-5 years since completing apprenticeship
- Experience in design and product development environment
- Knowledge of sheet metal/ steel/ welding fabrication processes
- Experience with design standards/ guidelines as well as CAD tools, Autodesk Inventor preferred
- Independent and self-motivated working style
- Confident communication skills (written, verbal) in English and German
- Positive attitude, team spirit, commitment, and sense of responsibility
- International thinking and ability to work in a global environment
- Willingness to travel occasionally (< 10%)
