Job DescriptionThe Project Portfolio Manager PMOreports directly to the ECS PMO Manager and oversees and maintains the entire ECS project portfolio including product development, technology, supply-chain, and organizational projects. He/she supports the ECS PMO Manager in project governance, facilitating status and gate reviews, portfolio reporting, and continuous improvement of project management processes in close collaboration with stakeholders from all ECS functions.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
- Ensure accuracy and actuality of project portfolio KPI data, including financial, schedule, risk, and resource utilization analysis.
- Collaborate with ECS project and program managers to capture the actual state of projects in the portfolio.
- Maintain reliability and consistency of financial project and portfolio data and report deviations.
- Monitor milestone/schedule performance of projects and establish corrective measures as needed.
- Track product quality KPIs and quality of project execution within the portfolio.
- Support portfolio planning, budgeting, resource management, and ongoing prioritization.
- Produce portfolio dashboards and reports for ECS senior management to assess project execution.
- Organize and execute scheduled project status and project gate reviews in absence of ECS PMO Manager.
- Ensure compliance with project management standards and processes and optimize management processes.
- Provide training and tool administration support for ECS project and portfolio management tools.
Qualifications- Degree in Engineering or Business.
- Minimum 3 years experience as a project portfolio manager in an industrial, preferably multinational environment.
- Proven experience working with program and project managers to assess project performance KPIs.
- Capable of driving and supporting portfolio prioritization and effective resource management.
- Minimum 3 years in successful project management for industrial product development or IT projects.
- PMI-PMP, PRINCE2-Practitioner, or IPMA-D certification preferred. Agile, LEAN project, or portfolio management certification is an asset.
- Solid knowledge in project portfolio and financial management, including Earned-Value-Analysis.
- Familiarity with quality improvement techniques such as Six Sigma/DMAIC, PDCA.
- Proficient in standard project and portfolio management tools, such as MS-Project, Monday.com, Planview, JIRA, Clarity PPM, etc.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills with a global team interaction ability.
- Strong organizational skills, stress resilience, self-organization, and multi-tasking capability.
- Fluency in English; good command of German. French or Chinese are an asset.
