As a D365 Functional Consultant in User, Security, and Permission Management, you will lead the design and implementation of role-based access across key business areas in Microsoft Dynamics 365. This role is ideal for someone who combines technical expertise with a strong understanding of business processes, audit requirements, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure secure and compliant system access.
YOUR CHALLENGES
- Act as the main responsible consultant for User, Security Role, and Permission Management topics in Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Own and drive the conceptual design, configuration, and implementation of security roles and access models across modules (e.g., Finance, SCM, Manufacturing, etc.)
- Ensure alignment of security models with business processes and Segregation of Duties (SoD) requirements
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and internal IT to analyze needs, identify risks, and design sustainable security concepts
- Translate business and audit requirements into structured security architecture, roles, duties, and privileges
- Work across streams to ensure cross-functional coverage and avoid conflicting access across Finance, Manufacturing, Logistics, etc.
- Support project lifecycle phases with security-related input (e.g., Fit-Gap, Design, Testing, Cutover)
- Prepare documentation, user guides, and training material for role management and governance
- Collaborate with compliance and audit teams to support SoD analysis, remediation, and policy design
Key Focus Areas Include
- Define role-based access control frameworks using duties, privileges, and menu items
- Map business functions to appropriate security roles in D365
- Support identification of critical conflicts and risk mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with compliance teams on audit preparation and SoD rule sets
- Work with Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Project teams to ensure consistent and secure access models across modules
- Lead functional testing of role configurations during project rollouts
- Provide guidance during UAT to ensure proper access by user groups
- Create process flows, access matrices, and training materials for key users and IT counterparts
- Contribute to internal knowledge-building and documentation libraries
YOUR COMPETENCIES
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a D365 Functional Consultant with focus on Security & Role Management
- Strong understanding of D365 role-based security architecture and how permissions are structured
- Ability to independently analyze and design roles based on business process requirements
- Experience supporting or leading security design in implementation projects
- Excellent stakeholder communication and workshop facilitation skills
- Strong English skills
