We are looking for an R&D Engineer - Mechanical Design (m/f/d) to support our product development team for high-speed turbochargers located in Baden, Switzerland. In this position, you will be responsible for defining, coordinating and executing mechanical design work packages in product development and R&D projects, with a focus on 3D CAD modelling and 2D technical drawing creation. You will work at the interface of product development, manufacturing quality and customer requirements, contributing to the continuous quality improvement of our products and processes.
Your responsibilities:
- 3D and 2D mechanical CAD design of turbocharger parts and assemblies using CATIA V6 / 3DX
- Development of new turbocharger parts in interdisciplinary project teams
- Optimize part designs and drawings with respect to cost targets, technical and supply chain requirements (design for manufacturing)
- Technical product support for our existing portfolio of turbochargers
- Collaborate with our core component development group to integrate new compressor and turbine stages into turbocharger products
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our quality control processes and technical requirement specifications
Your background:
- MSc. (FH) in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Experience in 3D CAD modelling and technical drawing creation
- Knowledge of geometrical, positional and shape (“GPS”; DE: Form- und Lage) tolerancing acc. to ISO standards
- Good written and spoken command of both German and English (B2 level)
- Strong quality mindset and thorough style of working
- High degree of self-management capability
- Experience with quality control processes in a manufacturing environment
- First experience in project management or engineering change management processes is an advantage
- Know-how in applied engineering statistics or six sigma quality methods is an advantage
