As a Category Manager (m/f/d), you will play a key role in driving supply chain excellence and strategic improvement initiatives across our global supplier network for turbocharger parts. This role goes beyond managing current supplier performance – you will actively shape and implement supply chain strategies that strengthen supply chain resilience and create long-term value. Your Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Strategy
Manage and optimize the existing supplier base within the assigned category
Enhance and execute the category strategy to align with business goals
Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to strengthen the supply network
Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the supply chain
Commercial Management
Lead price negotiations and contract discussions with suppliers to secure optimal terms
Conduct should-cost analysis to establish and validate cost targets
Perform benchmarking to evaluate supplier competitiveness and drive cost improvements
Manage the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process to ensure market-aligned pricing
Supply Chain Excellence
Initiate and support supplier development projects to address and improve poor performance
Collaborate closely with Supplier Quality Engineers to drive continuous improvement in supplier capabilities and processes
Deliveries / Capacities
Support operational purchasing in resolving delayed deliveries to minimize supply disruptions
Ensure adequate production capacity across the supplier portfolio to meet demand
Guarantee material availability through proactive planning and coordination
Identify potential capacity constraints early and implement mitigation strategies
Your Background:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Min. of 3 years’ work experience in a similar position
Basic understanding of production technologies such as investment casting, precision machining, forging, or coating processes is essential
Confidence in interpreting and working with technical drawings and specifications
Technical background and profound supply management commercial understanding
Experienced in strategic supply chain/procurement in an international environment
Strong experience in supplier development and quality improvement (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, ISO9001, Six Sigma Green Belt)
Project Management experience in an international context, persistent in execution
Experienced handling of SAP and Office tools
Excellent negotiation skills
A collaborative and solution-focused approach as well as strong communication skills
Ambition to lead cross functional teams in an international environment
Good command both in English and German
Team player approach
A minimum on-site presence of 2–3 days per week is expected
Willingness to travel 5-15%
