Our client, a Bern-based telecom company, is looking to hire a Senior IT Support Engineer to strengthen their in-house IT team. This is an onsite role with direct impact on internal operations and user productivity.
The position was created after ending a long-term partnership with an external IT provider. As Senior IT Support Engineer, you will help establish internal support for around 140 staff, many of them technically skilled. You will take ownership of key support processes and mentor a junior colleague in daily operations.
You will
- Deliver 1st- and 2nd-level support for laptops, workplace setups, and internal tools
- Handle onboarding/offboarding, including hardware provisioning and user access
- Manage and prioritise tickets across service desk and onsite support
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues in coordination with other teams
- Maintain IT documentation and contribute to process improvements
- Guide and support a junior team member in day-to-day tasks
You bring
- 4+ years' experience in IT support, ideally in an international and technical environment
- Solid knowledge of Windows environments
- Familiarity with Active Directory, remote access tools, and ticketing systems
- A structured, reliable working style and strong troubleshooting skills
- Fluent English communication skills, any other language is an asset
- Confidence working independently and mentoring others
