We are seeking a Gemmological Trainer with strong gemmological knowledge and a passion for gemstones, jewellery, and teaching. You will deliver training internationally, develop educational content, and share expertise with diverse audiences.
- Deliver gemmology courses at all levels, including international training (travel required)
- Develop and update teaching materials, presentations and learning resources aligned with industry standards
- Deliver Gem Talks, presentations, and workshops for external companies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and produce gemmological content for communications, press materials, and publications
- Create digital content to enhance Academy visibility and marketing initiatives (social media, videos, promotional assets)
- Represent the company and build strong external relationships
- Support the development and curation of the Academy's gemstone reference collection
- Contribute to museum exhibitions, educational projects and the Gübelin Archive
- Conduct private museum tours and workshops (if based in Switzerland)
- Support Academy strategy and international development
- Help build and maintain an active Academy community
- Assist with course administration, including registraition, scheduling and materials preparation
Requirements
- Gemmological degree (GIA, FGA, DUG, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in the gem or jewellery industry
- Experience in teaching, presenting, or client-facing roles
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- German and other languages are a plus
- Relevant academic background is an advantage
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Passion for gems and jewellery
- Organised, proactive, and detail-oriented
- Independent, flexible, and willing to travel
