Plant Engineer Mechanical (m/f/d) Permanent position, 100%
Job purpose
You will ensure targeted and cost-effective technical availability of plant and machinery from a mechanical perspective in a manner that complies to statutory, regulatory, cGMP, HSE and internal requirements.
In addition, you will ensure that capital investments are completed to HSE, cGMP, regulatory, statutory, and business requirements.
Furthermore, you will set standards and proactively plan a long-term strategy for mechanical maintenance and execution of small projects for our client.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Supports & advises the leadership on defining the construction and maintenance policy, standards, and systems from a mechanical perspective for the site
- Set performance targets for engineering (mechanical) in line with business objectives and develops long-term plan in line with our client's strategy
- Ensure compliance with relevant external regulations and related internal policies, procedures, and standards in engineering such as Installation and Qualification of equipment, maintenance and Safety (Job safety analysis, occupational safety)
- Management of all HSE, Quality and cGMP risks in control systems including but not limited to understanding risks and controlling them
- Formulate an asset lifecycle management plan in control systems with an objective to ensure high equipment/technical availability and reliability of production plants by utilizing various tools and techniques, including but not limited to Failure mode effect analysis (FMEA), Preventive/Predictive Maintenance (PM/PdM), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)
- Safe, compliant and timely execution of reactive maintenance activities
- Actively maintains a network of external experts to proactively supports all production needs and unforeseen events
- Ensure sharing and leveraging best practices in Engineering
- Owns the engineering documentation and ensures knowledge preservation in the function
- Responsible for mechanical spares management that ensures optimum spares to ensure suitable operations but maintains inventory at a reasonable level
- Responsible to set expectations and accountable for execution of services rendered by third party service providers in the function
- Responsible for the management of and owns the assigned capital projects in engineering aligned with business needs in terms of time, cost, functionality and quality and site strategy while ensuring compliance to relevant regulatory requirements (HSE and cGMP)
- Execute modification/expansion as part of ongoing projects for introduction of new products, continuous improvement, and capacity enhancement by liaising with internal stakeholders and/or external service providers for detailed engineering, planning, and executing within assigned budgeted time and cost
- Effectively utilize external services in that ensures optimum but adequate personnel that maximizes value add. To continually evaluate and performance of service providers and audit their systems and procedures to ensure adherence to agreed standards
- Control of operating costs and projects, identifies and implements cost reduction measures
- Acts as functional expert in incident/failure investigation involving control systems using relevant investigation tools, appropriate CAPA taken, and lessons learnt to avoid repeat failures/incidents
- Review functional performance, in terms of HSE, Quality, service levels, downtime on account of control systems and other parameters as defined
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal requirements that are applicable to engineering through an effective internal self-audit and/or inspection program
- Ensure that Improvement Plans are developed and monitored in order to meet performance targets or to continuously improve manufacturing performance
Profile
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 years in mechanical maintenance and working knowledge in chemical industry
- Training/exams in the area of mechanical maintenance, FMEA, RCM
- Experience in cGMP/Pharma facility preferred
- Training in the areas of GMP, CE certification would be an added advantage
- Knowledge of predictive and reliability centered maintenance for equipment and accessories used in the chemical industry (reactors, ANFs, dryers, pumps, gear boxes, mechanical seals etc.)
- Layout planning, erection and installation of equipment and pipes in chemical industry
- Statutory and legal requirements expected of the facility/equipment
- Proficient with current MS office and SAP PM
- Fluent in German and business proficient English
